Doctor arrangements
Prior to admission you should discuss with your doctor whether they can provide on-site consultations or after hours on call medical service.
There are doctors who visit Yallambee regularly, but usually, to see your own general practitioner or a specialist, you or your family will need to arrange transport to the clinic.
If we need to make arrangements for urgent treatment your doctor will be notified and appropriate treatment will be organised.
What is "Power of Attorney"?
Power of Attorney provides a trusted person with the authority to deal with your affairs in the event that you might suddenly be unable to do so.
The appointed attorney will have authority to deal with your accounts, banking, investment or Centrelink issues.
Another Power of Attorney relates specifically to medical decisions in the event of illness and should also be considered.
A third form of delegated responsibility is guardianship, which relates to personal and lifestyle decisions.
More details on these powers are available from the Office of the Public Advocate
