"Yallambee" will continue to be a leader in the development of services and facilities within Latrobe City, so as to better enable older residents of the City, and beyond where appropriate, to enjoy their retirement years free from the demands of urban living while maximizing opportunities for full participation in community life, secure in the knowledge of the availability, on site, of a complete range of residential care services.

Statement of Mission

"Yallambee" village will provide an environment that enables all of its residents to achieve optimal quality of living which is respectful of each person's individuality.

Philosophy

"Yallambee", aboriginal for "to dwell at ease," to enable this Vision to be expressed, has the following aims :

  1. "Yallambee" will provide a home like environment that assists residents to live in dignity with the support, comfort, and safety provided by quality staff and facilities.

  2. "Yallambee" will foster cultural and recreational links within the local and wider communities while facilitating new activities appropriate to individual needs.

  3. "Yallambee" will foster organisational links within Community groups to facilitate achievements of "Yallambee" aims.

  4. "Yallambee" will respect residents' rights to freedom of choice and to choose to take risks in social and lifestyle activities by facilitating access to opportunities for this to occur while acknowledging respect to fellow residents.

  5. "Yallambee" will encourage resident involvement in the promotion and development of all aspects of "Yallambee" operations.

  6. "Yallambee" will establish and maintain links with other Health Care providers to maximise the standard of care available to residents and the broader community.

  7. "Yallambee" will ensure quality systems are in place to reinforce and enhance standards of care set for the support of residents.

  8. "Yallambee" will ensure quality management is sustained and that a sufficient number of appropriately trained staff is available to meet the care objectives of the organisation.

  9. "Yallambee" will ensure that financial viability is maintained for all services provided.
