Understand your aged care costs
Work through your payment options with our straightforward calculator. We update this regularly, but always check the latest rates with our team to be certain.
What is a RAD/DAP?
When you move into Margery Cole, you'll have a choice about how you pay for your accommodation. Each room is priced according to its location and features and your Aged Care Means Assessment will confirm the maximum amount you may be asked to pay based on your individual income and assets.
From there, you can choose to pay a one-off lump sum (called a Refundable Accommodation Deposit, or RAD), a daily charge (a Daily Accommodation Payment, or DAP), or a combination of both, with the option to have ongoing fees deducted from any lump sum you've paid.

Important information
This calculator is a guide only. It helps you understand how RAD and DAP payments work based on current rates, but it's not a formal quote or financial advice. Aged care costs can change, and your personal situation may affect what you actually pay. Always confirm the latest rates with our team before making any decisions.
We've built this tool to be as accurate as possible, but we can't account for every circumstance. Your income, assets, and eligibility for government support all play a role in what you'll pay. Some fees may apply on top of what the calculator shows. If you have complex financial arrangements or questions about how means testing works, we strongly recommend speaking with a financial adviser who knows aged care.
Our team is here to help you understand your options. Give us a call on 1800 227 475 or visit us in Traralgon to discuss your situation in detail. We can walk through the numbers together and answer questions the calculator can't cover. There's no pressure, just honest conversation about what works for you.
For official information about aged care costs and your rights, visit My Aged Care or the Aged Care Quality Standards website. These government resources explain how funding works and what you're entitled to know.
If you need help with the calculator itself or want to talk through your options, our team is ready to listen. We've helped many people navigate these decisions, and we're committed to making sure you feel confident about your choice.
